You could try getting one cut by a company who have laser cutting machines, this is what I am thinking of for that time in the future when I have a car built.

The place local to me who do this is Quality Components, tel 01977 618160. They can cut up to about 10mm aluminium and up to 25mm steel. Not sure how you figure what size and length to make the slots however.

yeah i will use that method of the cardboard to get the dimensions then put this into a cad package also there is a quick shift method too which makes shifting faster which i could employ as seen on this web site...

You should feel the neck-snapping acceleration of it!

I looked at this Ferrari-style gearshift gate thingy a while back and concluded it isn't worth the hassle. Plus, if you have a quickshift there isn't really enough cross-gate travel to allow for a decent thickness of metal for that gates' 'fingers'. They do look nice but who looks at their gearstick whilst driving? The final thing for me was thinking of how much cack & spare change is going to drop into the holes and possibly jam up the stick?
