Watch out for the width of these seats as most will be too wide and put your legs in a funny position, Tillett now do car specific models but the
price will make most people cry!

Many Locost car manufacturers have lowback seats made of GRP, I know MNR have. Or is that not light enough, sir?

Was unaware that MNR did low back ones. By light i ment no thick padding ect you know just a bare seat.

Tillet's come in a huge range of widths from kids to wide arsed 'rental' seats, they do tend to put your legs a little wide for a
car so best to try them - they have lots of info hidden on their site.
The bin-bag+foam seats are very small, light and cheap - do a search and you will find the information you need to make them.

"carpet glued in to stop me sliding"
if you have to stop yourself from sliding then the seat don't fit, simple as that!
