crankcase breather hose size
is an 8mm hose adequate for the crankcase breather hose?

1" would be near the minimum size. Crank case prssure costs you power and worse case pushes out seals.

I'd need to measure to be 100% sure but think have 10 mm or 1/2 " on the crossflow and v8 which are same dia. as original fittings.

The gizmo I bought from Burtons and fitted to my x-flow block has a 1/2" outlet. If I could be bothered to fit an oil filler cap with a
breather outlet then that would be 1/2" too.
The original pipe that went from the now-removed PCV to the inlet manifold was smaller, IIRC.

That will have had vacume pressure from the inlet helping it draw the fumes tho, rather than them naturally venting.. hence the other requireing a
larger diameter pipe.
