WIDE BERTH

Hi all just bought a Mac 1 loving the build. I wanted to bring the seats home from the factory but im a bit of a wide load so they are to narrow for me anyone know of some nice lightweight seats for the more ample bum.

many thanks

Are you after the fibreglass shell type?? If so then "Triton" on here are the guys to speak to. They do various versions and you will find dimensions on the website below

I have one of the MK seats which some fairly large people have sat in & declared comfortable, you're welcome to come over & try it for size. Not sure easy to fit it would be in the Mac 1

I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/furoreproducts/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

Steve, as Russ said try the MK seats, it's not that they are so much wider than the MAC1 seats, it's that they are cut a lot nicer with room for your thigh etc.

I didn't fit in my MAC1 seats well, so know exactly what you mean, but think you will fit in the MK ones...

Failing that go for the baby cub type seats which do not wrap around the thighs a similar idea to the original locost type where the thigh could be in contact with the sides of thew car

Mac#1 make two widths. I've got the *cough* FB's and fit well and am certainly never described as skinny.

Ive got a set of 2005 vintage Mac#1 seats in mine and they are great for the fuller gentleman. I believe they were made by Triton. Newer style ones are tighter but having said that ive driven Rich's car and didnt think they were too bad at all, however its fair to say i wasnt concentrating that much on the seats at the time, too concerned with how to reattach my head when we landed back at mission control.
