Interior Mirror Placement
What are peoples opinions on the placement of my interior mirror.
Ignore the white tape

1. Is the position ok?
2. Is the mirror ok for sva, radius,etc wise.

I'm not sure you'll see a great deal in it - looks like you'd be looking at the rear interior panel or the sky.
My Sierra donor mirro is mounted on the top of the scuttle and is about right for a small view between the seat backs.

do you need a rear view mirror,if you have 2 side mirrors
i know sva is different to mot but mot only needs 2 mirrors
either 2 wing mirrors or 1 wing mirror and rear view mirror..

os it "e" marked size needs to be 40mm high x 109mm length
obstruction of view should not be greater than 15%
be able to see a pole in the centre line 60m away and the ground are either side of the pole to 10m each side
difficult to explain but hown annex 2 mirrors on sva

My problem is that i dont have a windscreen or fly screen. So the mirror is going to look odd sat on top of the scuttle.
I'll check on its size and whether its e-marked. The vision is not bad, dont think it's a great deal different from having it on the
scuttle tbh.

Have to say I tend to agree about the view thing. As light only travels in straight lines you will only see a straight line from the mirror over the
rear bulkhead.
Mine is the same mirror, was mounted on top of the scuttle and looks straight back through the roll bar. It was fitted for SVA with no windsreen.
I used to be apathetic but now I just don't care.

I think that the inspector would be expecting a reasonable chance of seeing something behind! All you will see is seat backs or driver &
passenger chests. My mirror's a lot higher, and I'm looking between shoulders.
If you do a search you'll find a few designs for home-made mirrors (including mine).

I used the same type of mirror without a problem
However I mounted on the top of the scuttle. It wasn't much use and the SVA tester said the FOV test passed on the wing mirrors alone but it was
a good thing I had the rear view mirror as it's an obligatory mirror.

You'd be better just putting a small sucion mirro on top and deciding later.

I have to say that visibility is fairly good. Plus your always going to beable to see things behind u cos they are so much higher up
