Well for post 1000 i thought i would ask the question,
In my own mind i love the idea but what are the pitfalls, shortcomings etc.
other than uprateing the cooling system and poss reducing compression(I know its a bit high on the 10r but pistons are available) what else do i need
to consider.
Ive thought about it when mine is eventually finished, but something else that put me off turbo'ing is how little space there is on the exhaust
side of the engine to fit a 4-1 manifold, and turbo before the bodywork gets in the way. if you did manage to get it all in there the hole in the side
of your bodywork will be wrong as you will have 1 bigger pipe coming out instead of 4 smaller ones. i have seen people cut out the full side of their
bodywork so the turbo is hanging out the side, but im not keen on that look. yes it does kind of shout out - look at me... im f**king fast, but a
prefer the look of having the bodywork there.
i have decided when the time comes that im going to supercharge mine. i can fit the charger on the other side of the engine where there is loads more
space, and i can keep the same exhaust system as ive got now
If i were you, i would never think about turbocharging in such a delicate car. Remember that a Seven replica is not a car for the traffic lights,
it's a car for the track. You don't mind if you will be slow in 0-60 mph, you should mind about lap times, and balanced handling.
Think about turbo lag, powertrain complexity and balance loss.
If i would like more bhp i would opt for light supercharging.
Just crack on fella!!
(when you find the pitfalls, let me know...)
Rich, I would strongly suggest you speak to Paul Fisher before deciding whether to turbo charge or not. Drop him a U2U, I'm sure he'll be
able to give you some good advice.

Cheers Phil, did just that a couple of days ago so have his point of view, was just wondering what others thought or their experiences etc to get a
rounded view, before maybe taking the plunge

Rich,
If I was you I would definitely give Malc a call...
http://www.mbcustoms.co.uk/
Tel: 01323 743733
Try to give him a call earlier on in the day as he is often busy, and as he is so forthcoming with helpful info I feel guilty talking to him in the
middle of the day...
Cheers,
Steve
Oh and - Yeah get it done mate!!!

Not only does it look extremely tight but also verrrry heavy.

what width tyres are you guys running with a turbo? We have 245/35/16 toyos states side. I wonder if they would be good for a 2225-250 hp R1 turbo?
As a couple have said, give Malc a ring, he is a top bloke.
As a few of you know,I have been building a new spec-R Indy with a zx10r turbo, but I have had a few problems along the way,and ended up now with a
standard 2007 zx10r engine fitted, without the turbo, and my bank account a good few thousand pound lighter ,forsight is a wonderfull thing but,and a
few people saying we told you so. I would now start by having the engine stripped 1st,reduce the compression, fit uprated pistons, fit a big
intercooler, and then get the car set up by a proffesional, such as Malc at MB customs, and don't listen to some guy from the USA thats trying to
sell you some very expensive bit of kit
we live and learn, but least I did manage 200 miles of real fun,the drive was truly awesum, not a hint of lag, just mental.
But Ive missed having my own car for the track for the last 18 months,so Ive been torn between continuing with the project,or getting a car on a track
again, and at the end of the day,for me anyway thats what its all about
Paul i never relised you had done that, im in shock, yes ive spent loads and i thought yours was well and truly sorted.
