I'm looking for a pair of calipers with handbrake support to run on the back of my car, and I came accross these.
calipers
I can't source Sierra calipers easilly here in the US and the pair of these with pads new will actually cost me less than a pair of reconditioned
golf units without pads.
I'm running large wheels so I don't think clearance will be an issue.
I was considering running the Mustang cobra 4 pots on the front, or a set of wilwood calipers, but I'm still in the planning stage, so I
haven't made any firm decisions.
Looking for thoughts and opinions since I've not done this before
Depending on the weight of your car VW or Audi calipers are usually good way to go.
The calipers you've linked to are the same basic design as the Ford Sierra ones that most people use. They are also very similar to the VW/Audi
parts.
It would be nice to know what piston size they are before buying. The Sierra rear calipers are 41mm and the VW/Audi are 38 or 43mm.
If these parts are a similar size then I think they will be fine.
Thanks that was what I thought, I'll try and track down the piston sizes before I buy.
EDIT - In case any one else cares they are 38mm pistons and are actually manufactured by PBR.
