Can anyone recommend an insurer for a 3 wheeler? Footman James and the two companies they put me on to don't want to quote for it. Who would you recommend?

Tanks guys. Adrian flux quoted me £190 plus extras for 3000 miles of comprehensive cover. I'll try Whittlesey tomorrow to see how they compare.

Surely all home built cars are 'one offs' whatever the style they are based on.

I appreciate where your coming from but no, not as far as insurance companies are concerned.
If I make a Locost, and you do too, we will end up with unique cars but from a proven design and recognized kit.
In my instance, the builder designed and built the lot, and only once. Almost everything is custom. And theres no instruction book or recognized kit name manufacturer.

Whittlesey only want to insure trikes - single wheel at the front motorcycles. I'm guessing that 3 wheeled cars built from scratch without a kit is quite a small market.
