Trikes and track days

I have looked on the tinterweb but not found what I'm looking for really so thought I would ask here.

Does any one know or even had experience of track days and trikes? Would it have to be a bike track day or cars? I would have thought cars for obvious reasons

would you go on a track mixing cars and bikes?

Only trike races I've seen a Robin Reliant ones which are quite funny as the whole lot of them end up on their roofs

My only experience was at Castle Coombe 'several' years ago at the 'kit car action day' where there were half a dozen disgruntled Hudson owners who weren't permitted to take part!

I woudl imagine alot of it is down to the discretion of the circuit owners. There is no clear wording that states whether a trike is a car or a bike (well, not that i have found).

How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

No I wouldn't mix cars and bikes but who knows with folk that run track days that's why I asked.

i should think bikes...

just because biCYCLE, triCYCLE. i'd class the two together. plus neither have belts, you sit on both the same way. i def wouldn't put trikes with cars

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

For me the seatbelt arguement has it. 2, 3 and 4 wheeled motorcycles (bicycles, tricycles and quadbikes) should be groupled together. 3 and 4 wheeled cars should be grouped together. MSVA makes the distinction with seatbelts. If you sit astride a saddle then you don't need a belt. If you sit in a seat then you do.

trikes

I think we should say reverse trikes here, I would'nt like to see a two wheels at the back trike trying to get round on a track day.
Denis.

Where did that go?

East Ayrshire Car Club sprint and rally track is available for hire at very reasonable rates. Cars, trikes, gocarts all welcome but not all on track at same time!.If you are a member they have 1 or 2 days/evenings (a month) at £20 a day. Nice bunch of guys and there are all facilities available

You'd be surprised how quickly the sales people at B&Q try and assist you after ignoring you for the past 15 minutes when you try and start a chainsaw
