Electric trike rear wheel
Are these electric turbo bike kits with 4 inch wide wheels any good ?
I know I would have to run a chain from a motor , but could they possibly be a bit fragile for a two seater .....
8kw motor for on a wheel for a couple hundred quid isn't such a bad price...

Do you have any links? From everything I've seen posted about these so far, most people seem to think they are snake oil - I can certainly see a
problem with supplying 8kW to anything on a 12V system for any length of time - even assuming 100% efficiency 8kW at 12V is around 667A!
I believe there are some that run from their own batteries, but, again you'd need much higher voltage to drop the current down to more
manageable levels. Also £200 for 8kW sounds very cheap, are they really 8kW or is that only for a matter of seconds?
I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator
headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names
furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours.

ebay seems to offer 48V 1kw electric bicycle wheels - that would be around 21A, which still seems a lot to me (bear in mind UK mains in a house is at
13A).

Ah!! All starts to make more sense, I thought you were talking about electric motorcycle turbo/supercharging kits, which, as already said appear to be
snake oil!
The description is terrible! It's 7500 - 8000W, & 48 - 120V, but gives no idea of what power output to expect at what voltage. Top speed of
125kMh, is presumably on a pushbike. I don't know who fancies doing nearly 80mph on a pushbike, but I don't! It's not quite what
they were designed for!
It's initially sounds like a cheap price for a 7.5kW motor, but by the time you add on $111 shipping it's over £350 so not so cheap, there
was a guy in UK on Ebay selling 10Kw motors for around the same money & those did have full spec, but he doesn't appear to be around any
more - there are suggestions for other motors on this thread here which may be of
assistance, depends what you are trying to do with it

This one looks good. 3 of them is 10 BHP peak. That would deliver about 62 MPH top speed on my old trike.
