Whippy I think you dont need a helmet to use a quad on the road legalwise........a fixed axle on tar is just asking for trouble....handy if you need to get to the trails round here that roads cut through but otherwise very unstable on hard surfaces

Here in Bradford, it's an odd day you don't see at least one. They don't look too safe when cornering at road speeds do they ?

I'm waiting for the first high-profile fatality, to see how the powers-that-be are gonna go about banning them

I'm pretty sure the helmet requirement depends on the axle width, i.e. likelihood of falling over....
