I think the old one would play any region games and dvds .
I've just traded in my xbox ,got £100 for it with one game and wireless headset.

Game station are doing the 250gig PS3 with 2 games and 2 blu ray films and a remote control for £299 ,i could choose the two games but not the dvds .the blu rays were Dark Knight and Wolverine

The main difference is the loss of PS2 backwards compatibility AFAIK.

I've got the PS3 normal size with at least the s/w compatibility. I think you get vibration controllers though on the slim out the box. There isn't a major size difference and personally I think they look a bit ugly. The larger one isn't much better but the slim is a munter.

If you think you're going to want the bigger hard disk and you know how to use a screwdriver you're actually better saving the £50 to £80 difference between the 120 and 250GB version and just buy yourself a 5400RPM 500GB SATA laptop harddisk for £60. You also then get to keep the old 120GB as a drive for backups or similar (get a cheap SATA USB enclosure).

Try checking http://www.hotukdeals.com

The best deals usually get posted on there, mainly bundles at the moment.

Yup, I upgraded my macbook from 80gb to 500gb and put the 80gb in the playstation, took out the 40gb hdd that was in playstation and put it in an enclosure as a kind of big usb stick (I've got a 250gb back up hdd as a separate thing too)
