Diff pictures
Has anyone got an image of the bearing carriers on there diff. I am trying to find out if i had a 6'5" diff as mentioned on a previous
thread. Or could someone measure the depth of the carrier.
If i could get this information pretty quick , i have a chance of a cheap set of shafts that might fit my newer diff.
Oh its a 7" diff with push in shafts.
Thanks in advance
Brad.

Isn't the 6.5" diff from the front of a sierra?

Is that a standard diff or a LSD Richard. Its just that the depth of the bearing carrier looks deeper on mine compared to yours.

Just do a search for "Sierra diff list" and you will find that there is ALSO a 6.5" diff fitted to the Sierra Rear, (although it is
in a 7" case). Cheers Ray
To make a car go faster, just add lightness. Colin Chapman - OR - fit a bigger engine. Chippy

As I understand it the sierra diff casing was 7" or 71/2", the early diffs had a smaller set of internals, hence the fact that they have
different sized shafts, the diameter and number of splines are different from latter ones. The later 7" and 7/1/2" diffs both take the
bigger shafts, even the lobro shaft system diffs can take push in shafts once the shaft end and clip on the inside is removed, this would include the
granada and bug eyed scoirpio diffs too. Only tyhe lsd diff needs a different shaft as the ends are a different length.
