Unleaded Conversion - XFlow 1600

Hi all, first I wanted to say a big thanks to Prawnabie for the GT Head and the spin round the block. It's nice to see the response I'll get when I finally finish a rebuild on the 1600.

So my question is - does anyone know of a decent engineering firm around Northamptonshire that will convert the head to unleaded for me and any guides as to prices.

Also I don't suppose anyone knows the differance between a standard Xflow head and a GT head?

Thanks
Rich

The GT head has larger valves, otherwise it's the same.

I paid around £80 + VAT 4 years ago for the unleaded inserts.

Cylinder Head Services at Moulton would be worth a try. I've not used them and don't know their prices.

Lyndale Engines at Peterborough rebuilt a crossflow for me a few years back, including unleaded conversion.

When i had a cross flow I just left the head standard and used castrol valve master additive. If your not doing a lot of miles it is not to expensive to use additives.
