Won't Start

Been out for a run in the lovely sunshine. About a mile from home my speedo and rev counter died (oil pressure, fuel and water temp OK). Car was running fine. When I got home I turned the engine off and tried to restart it and all I get now is the sound of the solenoid and nothing else. Fuel pump and fan running fine and battery is charged up OK. Any ideas??

Running a 16v 4age with Omex and DHLA 45's.

Looks like you almsot ran out of electricity just before you got home. Now you've completely run out.
Time to get the multimeter out by the look of it.

Battery is at 5v so I think this is the problem!! Jumped the car and it fired up fine. Need to find out why the battery has gone flat... alternator is connected OK. Trickle charger now connected.

check what voltage your getting when the cars running.

if your alternator is working should be just over 13 volts

Even a Toyota won't run without a good battery.
