What are these 'puters worth??

You would have thought I had learned my lesson with crappy old computers but..
We have the following machines at work that are to be auctioned for charity. I'd like to buy a machine for the garage and one for my sons room. So what are they worth?
HP ML110 Tower
HP ML110 Tower
Dell Space Saver Optiplex 755
Dell Space Saver Optiplex SX280
Dell Space Saver Optiplex SX280
Dell Optiplex GX 260
Compaq Desk Pro

None of the machines will have a hard drive!

Cheers guys/gals.

Stick some of the model numbers into eBay. Ignore the daft buy it now prices and check out the auction prices.

Some of them, not a lot!

Got some of those on there from a college library, I'm fairly certain if I asked for those models at work they'd have a few spare ones they'd let go for free..

So I'd honestly say between a tenner and 20 for the majority, probably closer to a tenner if they haven't a hard drive and not much RAM.

the reason companies 'give them away' is that most of them have to PAY other companies to take them away and dispose of them.

I'd look at the following:

HP ML110 Tower
HP ML110 Tower
Dell Space Saver Optiplex 755

The 755 is a fairly recent unit, within the last few years, so should be OK spec wise, I'd expect it to be at least a dual core Celeron, if not early Core Duo. The ML110 towers are both small server units, and so should be fairly reliable and still be able to handle most basic tasks (looking at the generic specs for that age of ML110)

The 280's and 260's will most likely be Pentium 4 units (or less!) and so I'd steer clear!

Also the above 3 units are all SATA, finding and installing a drive will be much easier than the older units that will probably be IDE.
