Fan switches
I've got an alloy rad here and it's all fitted and working apart from the fan switch, Its m20x1.5 thread for some reason, the rad its from
a corsa b. It has a blanking plug in at the moment and a cool running stat so it's never got hot enough for the fan to need to come on but
I'm planning on going to the nurburgring next month and I want to have all bases covered so need a switch for it. Any ideas on what will fit?
I've looked for m20x1.5 fan switches witch don't seem to exist and also looked for adaptors to use the standard m22x1.5 switch also with
no joy. Any suggestions? I'm pulling my hair out as I'm trying to save for the trip and want to avoid buying another rad if possible.
Thanks

Have you tried a Corsa b switch?

Yes the corsa b switch is m22 so is too big for the hole, if I could tig weld I'd buy a boss and weld it in, but I can't haha

Drill and tap the blanking plug with M14 and fit a switch to that?

Not a bad idea, looks like the easiest way to get round the problem

If you have a problem with the blanking plug, get someone to turn-up an adapter.

I'm going to try and tap it, it's only Ali so could end up going horribly wrong but only time will tell

It worked! All in and running witch means I've binned the cool running stat aswell as I no longer fear overheating. And it runs a load better
for it! Thanks guys
