Lotus mkiv chassis-pics?
All I can find out about this is that it was chapmans first spaceframe, and that the whole thing weighed 55 lbs. Tubing used was <1"
diameter.
Anybody have information on this? I'm sure it is similar to the 7 but just wondered if there are pictures floating around.

Don't know if it's still there, but if you do a Google (Images) for 'Lotus 7', there used to be a set of drawings that may be
of use.
Tell them about the bent treacle edges!

There is this but not sure its a Vl as they should have rounded rear

Sod it...I've spent 2 hours trying to insert these pics. They're in my photo archive. Why does insert not work for me??

Its becuase the sample url on the upload pages is wrong. It just needs a tweak to the text on the upload page.
You need to use http://locostbuilders.co.uk/upload/....

Only references I can find are "The tubing we used was brand-new welded furniture tube..."
and

Those two pics posted were of the Eleven Series 1 frame. The 6's used 1 7/8" diameter lower tubes, while the upper ones were either
1" round or 1" square.
If you can wait till tomorrow, i can scan a bunch of pics of the 6 frame and send them to you.
Or if you want i might be able to find some Eleven chassis blueprints for you.

The car in the foreground shows a nice early use of cycle wings instead of clamshells, though....

I guess the chassis Chapman is holding could be Lotus 11, but the car in the foreground looks very much like a Vl
As I said, I could be wrong

The chassis in the forground was a Series 1 Super Seven, Climax powered. The 6 had a divided front axle, where as the Sevens have the lower wishbone
with top links and a sway bar.
The photo of Chunky holding the frame was a publicity photo for the "new" Eleven.
Why do i know this, i spent way too much time in my youth reading about Lotus.
There was a company making 6 clones, i cant remember their site, but they were near duplicates of the original cars.

First what did you ment with MKIV?
the lotus 7 mk IV?
or some older stuff as the:

1973 Caterham 7 series 3
etc
In my photo archive are some pictures of the lotus 6. (info to others)
I have more lecture, Also the caterham chassis tru the years. But not much before the seven.
