i've got a vfr 750 rear brake master cyl. as my clutch master cyl; anyone know if the rubber hose from the resevoir has to be marked to pass the test, or will the original do? cheers!

ABSOLUTELY!

If the hose has no marks to prove its provenance it will fail, same for rubber fuel line.

The official failure wording will be:

"The fuel and hydraulic pipes are subject to a corrosive environment likely to cause premature failure"

The moral of this tale is - don't buy such stuff unless it can be correctly identified and fit for purpose

If it is for the clutch then it should not need to be marked as it is not a critical safety component.

My clutch pipework is half copper and half original rover plastic tubing but there are no markings on it and it passed OK
