CraigJ - 27/2/09 at 05:24 PM

I'm considering selling the ZX10 engine kit i have just bought and buying 2 Honda VFR 750 engines and fitting them side by side in my mongoose but i was wondering how i would go about getting it through the IVA. Would i be able to IVA it with just one engine running? Any help would be great thanks.

I think Russbost had/has a twin-engined version of his Furore...

yes, here you go, though I am not sure if the twinnie was SVAd

so, if they are side-by-side and the engines are identical, then how does the drive work.

What I mean is, doesn't one wheel go in the wrong direction?

Clearly not, as Russbot is on the road. Any clues diagrams.

I've always wondered.

Matt

There are a couple of ways to skin this cat.

Quaife do a box that has two input shafts and one exit to the diff.
Or you can face one engine to the front as per the Tiger Z100WR and have four wheel drive

If you decide to go ahead I have a complete VFR750 engine (23,000 miles), and loom in my shed in Leeds.

Russ's car was sva'ed and it did pass! (although it confused the tester!).
One engine drives each rear wheel seperately and I can vouch for it being impossible to keep up with!

Do you have any links as to how he did the drive to the wheels? i have been on his site and cant find any pics of the engine install.

No links, why not give him a u2u?
From what I remember, no diff, just two driveshafts driven by cog and chain.

hi, re russ and the mk1 furore. has two engines each is seperate from the other, one engine drives one wheel no diff (no connection at all between the two) and only a double gear lever(almost like a split one) i can also confirm it goes like stink !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! also from the back seat and outside it sounds like a pair of bikes giving it beans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!very very addictive he he.
