Fuel Tanks

I seem to remember there was discussion several months ago now as to which fuel tanks would fit the GTS car. One manufacturers wouldnt, or it was possibly the book design one. ISTR that the panhard rod brakets in the way...

Can anyone remember what the outcome was? Looking for ways to save some money, and there are always a couple of tanks on eBay....

Cheers Ned

Why wouldnt they fit? Something to do with the welded brackets on the bottom?

It could have been what I was thinking about. But I thought it was the other way around...i thought the p-rod braket was in the way on the GTS chassis (i.e. further rearward, menaing less space to fit the tank in) could be wrong of course.

Yes if you have a welder....and I dont. The scratch build plans changed somewhat... for a few reasons....

I do know an aluminium fabricator (family friend) at home. So might wait and see if he can do me a deal for one.

yes, the brackets underneath fowled the chassis and the tank was too close to teh deedion beam as darren only use 3mm plate strips on the rear panel verticals whereas I and the book used 3/4" round.

Flak Monkey,

A guy on here makes them :-)

Deneo... you can contact him here:

Deneo

I'm getting him to make mine, once i have the measurements.

I believe he is around £60 + £10 postage - depending upon your exact specification

Cheers,

Murray
