Front track width of GTS Panther?
birdii - 27/4/06 at 08:11 PM

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows the front track width of the panther when built with sierra uprights?
The reason i ask is because I am going to use Cortina uprights instead of Sierra items and I don't know what sizes the wishbones need to be, they are wider than book but is it 2 inches wider each side to match the 4 inches of extra width from the Sierra rear?
Cheers

Thanks for that, big help!
I did think about buying the bones from darren but to be honest i fancy making them myself!
If the panther is 57" hub to hub how does that compare to a book front end? If i can get that size then I know how much wider than book to make the wishbones.

You need to talk to Flack Monkey.
I think he is doing exactly what you are proposing.

Hi Birdii

I am using cortina front uprights on a GTS. The bones were bought from Darren who offered to make me a set to suit. They keep the sierra track width, but use the cortina uprights.

If you want to know dimensions I can get them when I go home mid-june. Alternatively give darren a ring and ask him if he is willing to do another set, I waited about 6 weeks for mine, which I thought was reasonable given they arent off the shelf parts.

Cheers,
David

Hi Flak Monkey,
Thanks for your offer, if i'm still puzzeling about this in June then i may ask for some sizes!
I did ask Darren about these bones a little while ago and got a price off him. I have decide though that i would like to make them myself. It seems a shame to go all through the chassis build and then give in and buy the bones, just my feeling about it anyway. To be honest, another time I would buy everything, but not this build!
As far as I can tell the front track should be the same as the rear or a little narrower, i think thats what i'm going to work to anyway.
Thanks
