I finally made some serious progress on Sunday, despite seriously butchering the wiring loom (Damn GLS spec sierras!) I managed to get the fuel pumps
working, the ECU flashing the right codes and a spark at the coil.
So, after about 3 seconds of cranking she started first time with a little puff of smoke and a deafening sound. What a feeling :-)
I have included some piccies of the build progress.

It's a wicked feeling when you start it up for the first time - I still break into a dopey grin just thinking about it.
Looks like a wiring nightmare to me I'm afraid I reverted back to the most basic electronic ignition and carb set-up to preserve my sanity -
top marks for sticking with it!
i dont know why but it feels like all that work hasnt gone to waste when you hear it run
