Almost finished my GTS W7DE

Well, there's still lots of trimming to be done and cables to be prep'd for SVA, but the end is finally in sight.

I had to do some work on my everyday car and needed the garage, so I thought I would move the kitcar up the drive for the first time and get some piccies :-)

Looking very nice matey.
As discussed in one of Flak Monkeys threads, your side panels will need a little bit of a trim. The front lower area that sticks out beyond the nose cone radius.
Either cut it back just behind the wishbone or drill out the rivets underneath, pull the sides under a tad and re-rivet.
Good luck with the SVA dude.
Cheers.

Looking excellent And I still think they look awsome in black! Hopefully mines not far off that stage.

Whens the SVA booked for then?

Looks good, like the lights.
looking at the front indicators though, you may need to do something as they should be visable at an angleof 80 degrees from the front so the tyre may hide their view. Just mention this because i know someone else had the same problem with indicators mounted on the headlight mounts.

Very cool!

You'll need some proper headlights for SVA. Other than that, it's looking good.

Thanks for the positive comments guys. Luckily the oil isn't coming from the car, it was the bloody oil filter on my missus's car that dropped it during it's oil change.

I read the thread the other day on the side panel issues (Needing pulling in) and will tackle that one shortly. A slight concern is that there is still about 20mm of the bottom tube showing under the nosecone, does this count as a sharp edge?

I will have to change the headlights for SVA and I am considering making a metal standoff for the indicators to bring them out to the required 80 degree visiblility.

Hopefully after these issues are addressed I will fix the seats in properly and apply for the test :-)

So why can't the headlights be used for Sva, I was told these had been through the test all ready and had passed with a slight mod concerning turning the lens ??

I believe the SVA manual states that the headlights must dip down and to the right, but these don't as they are motorbike headlights and only dip downwards as I found out after I bought them. Doh!!

If anyone knows of a sure way of passing with a small mod, I am up for giving it a go.

Even if you could get the beam pattern right, they would still fail because they are incorrectly marked. No reson you can't re-fit them after SVA though.
