Got a bit further with the build over christmas. Just got the interior to do as the last major job. Also a few other things to sort for sva (indicator
extensions for one). The car is mechanically and electrically finished though. I do have to solve a misfire on cyl4 though when i get back.

Blimey you have been a busy boy! Did you actually find any time to sit down for your Xmas dinner?
Looking good mate.
Looking Good David !! Looks like you will beat me to sva at that rate !!
Only thing I saw looking dodgy was the front Indicators, are they close enough to the outside of the car ??
Good luck with the build, and try to stay more on campus as you might not beat me to sva then !!
Jason

Thanks for the kind comments gents
I only had xmas day off Was fitting my lights on christmas eve, bloody cold outside though
No requirement for reversing light.
Theres about an inch or so between the bodywork and manifold IIRC, possibly more, its certainly not as close as it looks in the pics.
David
PS Alex, I returned to cov today
Looking very nice Dave, i know BEC are the best to drive , but there's somthing about having CEC with a set of nice carbs to look
at.
Brad.
she looks great, so how much you spend on her to date?
Spent slightly over budget, but its come in at around £5500, and I have everything i need to finish it off.
Not bad at that price. I've been noisey and looked at your archive , noticed you refurbed the engine yourself, did it take much, and how much difference does polishing your head make, thinking of doing mine next winter.
I bought the engine in bits. Replaced all of the bearings, rings and honed the bores. Had to make some special pullers to change the camshaft
bearings, but was no big deal.
No idea what difference the head work has made as i havent had it on a rolling road yet, but i would hope it was worth while. I didnt spend long doing
it, a couple of days probably and didnt go as far as some books suggest, mainly just smoothed off the ports and cleaned them up a bit.
Thanks , looks a tidy job.
