Hi all,
I need to modify my phoenix bonnet to accommodate the taller zetec engine which will soon be going in it. From my untrained eye I think all it needs
is a top section cutting and a bulge fabricating in its place, anyone have any advice on where I cant get this done? I'm not going to attempt
doing it myself
Cheers

Thought the zetec fitted under phoenix bonnet
Mine did..
mine looks like it wil

Well if that is the case then that's good. Mine is an early one without any form of bulge, it's mk4 striker with outboard suspension.

If it looks like the middle of my old bonnet then you'll be fine, if it doesn't then you will need a bulge/bonnet.

My avatar has the same centre section as the standard Phoenix bonnet.
It's smaller than yours Jeff, its almost like the mk4 clubman 'aero' bonnet but with a curved lower section:

I'll try to upload a photo later which will make this much simpler!
Then you will have to cut a hole in your bonnet
Thought so.
Does anyone have any recommendations of where to have it done??
Owen i would have a word with rob johnston aka cyana he does fibreglass. However, it maybe easier to sort out a new bonnet which has the right bulge to suit your gel coat. If you cut and shut your bonnet you will need to paint so by the time that's done it maybe the same price and its one price fresh.
Andy Westgate is the only call you’ll need.

This bulge did not exist from the factory
Thanks for the replies gents.
Tim, Andy Westgate does seem like the person to call, I'll be giving him a call when the time comes.
