my boot cover studs keep coming off! the boot cover is attached by press studs and i have superglued the bases to the rear tub but they keep coming off! can anyone suggest a way of fastening the base studs to the tub so they don't come off!

Pop rivets are what I used.

I thought most used rivets too. Watch out for doing them too tight if you've got a GRP rear.

Mine are bolted on with very small stainless countersunk bolts.

i tried pop rivets but then the press stud doesn't clip in

i'd have used these rather than the poppers

Rivets for me too. I needed to cut a small disc of steel with a hole drilled in it to enable me to pull the rivets inside the press-stud with my rivet gun.

how about stainless self tapping screw?

instead of superglue try using PU adhesive like Tigerseal. That stuff will stick anything together

I had a similar problem on my old car and used countersunk self tappers into a flat nut behind the GRP. Worked a treat.

Use backing washers to stop the rivets pulling through the fibreglass.
