De-Dion width compared to English live axle?
As the title says; I'm after finding out how much wider the GTS beam is over the escort English live axle. I'm about to make the
conversion to allow me to use a 3.14 diff as I'm fed up with 95mph @ red line as I currently have. Has anbody out there converted a book
chassis to GTS de-Dion? Thanks in advance.

If you speak to Darren, I am fairly sure he has a "narrow" de-dion available for a direct swap.

i've not heard of a narrow dedion axle, most are the standard sierra width which I think is 4" wider than escort? but shouldn't be
too difficult, as said get in touch with Darren. Bear in mind you'd need the standard sierra driveshafts shortening or new ones made (I believe
NS Dev knows someone who can do this )

Kissy,
The Sierra track is 4" wider than the Escort.

But you also have to mod the bottom back of the chassis.

Cheers all. I spoke to Darren this week - he called me! They are using an 'English' width deDion axle on the Eleven lookalike. As soon
as he knows the demand after the next show he's going to commision a batch and add one in for me. Anybody out there want a standard width
deDion beam, unused, painted a horrible shade of dark green (not by me!)? Offers - it stands me £100.

You will to shorten the drive shafts on the narrow D/D tube...not something to be done lightly so best left to machine shop with right facility to
ensure they are straight as well as stong enough.
