Only mentioned it because I have been caught out when buying black pigment in the past....managed to make one seat in black the other was kinda like dark chocolate coloured

So now only use super black and nowt else.

Dark chocolate, a niche market perhaps?

Nooo it stood out like a sore thumb..
Trouble is you can't tell until you have wasted time and materials that it's a totally different black

Car looks groovy in black by the way.

I am building a Black and Stainless Steel Viento.

Take real good care of the Fi-Glass parts, wrap them well, as mine are showing every scratch. Black is a great colour, but I have noticed that I can now see every scratch from the build.

ie bubble wrap the bits even when fitted to the car during the build, or you will scratch it and it will show.

Hope this helps, and avoids what I have done.

Most of the scratches are actually from the muppets otherwise known as Business Post

The bodywork was pretty well wrapped with a layer of cardbord and a layer of bubble wrap, looks like it was bashed against something sharp, although its not too bad and the worst of it is on the rear wings.
the small scrathes on the nose cone were my own falut though as it slid off the chassis and onto the garage floor
im hoping ill be able to apply some black scratch paint and polish it in later.

Gav,
Use fine wet n dry then polish it up with G6 or similar, but wait till you have built the car because it will make your life easier....agree with using bubble wrap to help stop the scratches.
Be carefull not to go thru the gel coat though
Mark

G6 is a fine rubbing compound, use after wet and dry and before a T-cut and polish. Available from most decent motorfactors
