Type 9 box flange clearance

Hi all.
Just trial fitted my type 9 gearbox into my GTS chassis and noticed a little clearance issue. The doughnut sits about 2mm from the outside edge of the transmissin tunnel.

I am guessing that as this is a 1600 box, that I have the wrong flange. What flange do I need and where is best to get one?

We used the front section of a Capri prop that has a knuckle type joint and the correct spline to fit on the Type 9 which gave much more clearance

We shortened our own prop though, if your buying one or having one made the just specify the correct ends for the job.

So if I dont need this doughnut do I weld the prop to the shaft? Therefore becoming one end of the prop. I haven't made the prop yet.

You replace the doughnut with the aformentioned knuckle joint which is welded to the other half of the prop by a pro.

or a completely new one bought of the correct length

As before

The Transit prop fits and does away with the rubber coupling. I found a MkII one in the scrapyard for £5.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
