steering ball joints
i have noticed that when i put my steering ball joints on there is alot of play and they dont tighten up
properly i am using the ball joints that are directed to be used. does anyone have any ideas to help me.

Are they new ones?
Older ones tend to be a bit awkward to lock down, either tap them sharply with a hammer, or apply constant downward pressure with a long bar whilst
tightening, (don't forget to swear when the bar slips and you lose your knuckles, it's tradition

yeah they are new
the hole in the upright just seems to big

Sierra uprights need reaming out to take the taper of trackrod end balljoint thats used.
Edit: actually just read the whole of your last post, did you get the uprights stright from the donor or did you get them seperatly? could they of
been machined to take a different trackrod end if the hole is to big?

Now i have been drinking however when you say steering balljoints do you mean the bottom ball joint attached to the wishbone or the trackrod end
from the steering rack?
if its the bottom balljoint ignore me completly

The top ball joints aren't Transit track rod ends they should be Mk1 or Mk2 Transit 75 drag link ends right hand thread.
