A bit of help....more like 20 questions!
Im still undecided as to what car to use as a donor. Capri or sierra are looking probable.
Sierra is probably the easiest of the two, so i have a few questions...
Up the back... Am i right in thinking the GTS de dion set up fits straight into a book chassis or are there major mods needed? And do all the standard
bits from the back of the sierra bolt straight onto the de dion kit? (e.g any shortening of driveshafts?)
And up the front... can i use the sierra uprights and steering rack? What modifications are needed to the uprights? (Top adapter and bottom taper
machined?) I know GTS do wider width wishbones for the front of the car... are these designed for the full sierra track width and standard chassis?
Wow a lot of questions...sorry, but seeing as you are the guys in the know...
Thanks very much
David

Take this for what it's worth (I've been researching but not built my car yet)
DeDion "should" fit a book chassis without major modification. That is, all major mounting points are very similar to live axle. Bear in
mind that even live axle cars can vary a bit according to how you spec the axle or shocks.
Sierra bits bolt up directly to most of the DeDion kits with no axle trimming, ending up a bit wider than an escort rear axle. Dozracing sells one
that takes standard Sierra bits, he frequents the board and may have more to add.
Cheers, Ted

The de-dion axle uses the Sierra driveshafts as Mr Ford intended so no cutting down etc.
The axle will also accept both types of driveshafts fitted to Sierra's so option of disc or drums is built in.
Both upper and lower front wishbones are fabricated using oval tubing as are the the throttle/accelerater and clutch pedals.wing brackets are also in
oval tubing keeping the front end nice and neat.

Gts Chassis
Hi
Everyone
I see there is a lot of banter about what chassis to buy i can personally say that boys at gts are very busy but there work is top notch and they
will save a good few bob on alternative kits .
i have just taken delivery of a gts di-dion chassis with a custom made rollbar and she looks very sweet the reason for the GTS Di Dion is its a lot
lighter than irs and the dynamics of it are far better also but i am sure all you guys no this , i firstly set out to alter my exsisting locost
chassis that i bought out of the local paper, big mistake i adapted all the chassis to take the axle and it turned out that one side of the chassis
was longer than the other . so my advice is leave it the professionals. things like this where only noticeable once i started to alter things as th e
car came as a rolling chassis .
if the people out there are wanting a locost kit car with a locost price then gts is a must to have a look at .
also all you out there building a book built car, Gts Plastics will fit on your chassis to make look a million dollars.
i have posted some pictures
on that note
the men at gts are constantly developing there car to be more superior on price and build than alternative Kit car manufactures
please see pictures .
Any Questions Drop me U2U Or msn
