Best Place for consumable X-Flow Parts?

Where is the best (Cheapest) place for major service items for the crossflow?

Ie. Cam chain tensioner block, Rings, Plugs, shells, shims etc etc.

I know Burton Power do all the performance parts i need, (albeit a bit expensive) but i was wondering if there was an escort rally parts supplier that did all this stuff in one place?

I will also need at some point;

Fast Road cam
Double Springs
Roller Rocker
Twin DCOE 40's & Manifold
Steel Main Caps
lightened flywheel (Balanced with Crank)
HP Oil Pump
Separate Solid State Fuel Pump
Independant Fans & Stat
Solid Engine Mounts (Made by yours truly!)
and a few other odds and sodds.

Should be good when its done!

Kindest Regards,
Richard.

for your hp oil pump just buy a good quality one and shim up the blow off valve/spring in the pump with a washer....

VERY locost and works well. Just make sure you have a oil pressure guage to see where it goes up to.

I have got a good relationship with my local factors, but he's struggling to find the parts i need, as his stock computer doesnt go back to 1973 parts.

As far as the "cheap" thing goes, i wouldnt buy a cheap production 'main' items, but im looking for cost effectiveness.

I am shopping around for these suppliers i need, but have posted here to try and avoid re-inveinting the wheel. Thats what the forum is for?

I guessed that there would be parts suppliers on ebay, but im still none the wiser as to their names. Il do some more searching.

Thanks for the info guys.

Richard.

as long as it's the more common 711m block then a later ohv/x-flow/rwd engine should give you the same parts.

I would hesitate regarding the roller rockers. Unless youre doing stupid revs and a very high lift cam, I wouldn't.
If I were you, I'd go for steel rocker posts to stiffen the whole assembly up, oh and a duplex cam chain and tensioner.
The same goes for the steel caps.
A set of ARP bolts to hold the standard stuff together will be fine.
A high pressure / high volume oil pump is the one to go for, pressure on its own won't give you much of a benefit.
Ditch the 40s and fit bike carbs from a 600cc bike and you'll never regret it!!
Sorry if all that sounds a bit negative, it's not meant to, just my experience of these cracking engines
BTW I'm just about to rebuild mine..just about collected all the bits together for a nice 1700 on TBs

I have a new old stock Ford timing chain tensioner you can have for a tenner if you want it. Check out your local engine reconditioners for parts , they may be better than a motor factors.

Not negative at all.
HAdnt thought about bike carbs.... Worth a look. Ive got a supercharger as well, hence the other main upgrades so im not sure the bike carbs would be up to the job??

Doesnt a HP oil pump make the oil flow faster? The objective would be to get the oil through the journals and oilways faster, and through the oil cooler faster.

The steel rocker posts are a definite, though i was just thinking about the roller rocker to make the valve movement more efficient, and reduce the losses caused by a lot of the standard gear. I would feel more comfortable with one once the supercharger is fitted as well.

So there we have it.
