Rest in Peace - Megan Macfie
Hi All,
I know this forum is usually a place of happy car building and life experiences, and until this evening it never entered my head to post something
like this but:- two weeks ago the 12 year old daughter of my cousin died of Asthma.
The News article probably describes it as well as I can...
MIDDLEWICH GUARDIAN NEWS REPORT
It was her funeral today and I have just arrived home after a tremendous service and a drink fuelled wake.
Her dad, Ben, spoke so gallantly at her service and we all wish the family the best. And, like I said, not sure why I'm posting it here
(I've already passed on my concern's to friends that have children suffering from Ashma), maybe I'm just "sharing"
(maybe it's because my own wife is recently pregnant). Anyway, it's something that has had a profound impact on me and I thought I would
post about it here.
Kind regards,
Steven Hignett

Yes .... I was left asthmatic after a serious bout of pneumonia, didn't dare go anywhere without my nebuliser....had a few scary trips to
A&E too!
Luckily I have not had an asthma attack for quite a few years now......
Nothing, but nothing, will ever make me forget the bad attack episodes.....
For such a young child (and I know there are many) to have to suffer asthma is heart breaking. For a child to 'pass' is unimaginable.
Deepest condolences to your family Steve.

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

The mental gymnastics a landlord will employ to justify immoral actions is clinically fascinating. Just because something is legal doesn't make
it moral.

It will have a profound effect upon you.
My sister, Clare, younger than myself died from cancer earlier this year. My father, who has recently lost his wife (my mother) after an agonising
death from the same disease (himself suffering horrendously from a brain tumour) witnessed the burial of his child.
No parent should bury their children.
Already bitter about the pettiness of some members of the human race, it's had a huge effect on me.

When my son was 3 months old, I woke in the night to peer into his cot and was utterly horrified to see him staring back at me, with no expression,
totally motionless. For a split second (it felt like ages) I just froze. I could feel the walls of the room falling down around me. Utter panic and
unable to move. I did manage to kick into action and pick him up. He'd been sick and was choking on his own upchuck. Holding him upside down and
a few frantic slaps on the back saw him splutter into life. We took him to hospital and he was ill for several months but he was alive.
This episode changed my outlook on life entirely. To have been so close to losing something that was so precious had a profound effect on me.
I can imagine what it must be like to lose a child but I can't begin to think how anyone can deal with it.
My sincere thoughts are with you and your family.
