4age VVT not working?
Hi all, just replaced my blown 4age 20v with a "new" imported unit and am battling to get the VVT operating, so far I have checked and
verified the following;
1)Solonoid operating fine
2)Oil pressure good
3)Marked inlet cam gear and checked with a timing light
4) I have replaced inlet cam gear with my old unit - no change.
The strange thing is that when the motor is cool the gear activates and advances the timing, but as it warms up the gear rattles at idle and does not
activate, as soon as the activation point is passed (2000 rpm) the rattle from the gear dissapears but the cam timing does not advance.
For the life of me I cannot figure it out, the result bieng that I have no mid range torque, the peak power is there (108kw ATW / 150nM)
Any ideas??????
