which pinot rocker cover gasket
ive just put a new head gasket on my pinto and now the rocker cover cork gasket is incorrect, does that mean i have put the wrong head gasket on. and
how do i find out the correct rocket cork gasket as i have no engine numbers. . ahhh i need help this car is going to be sold not enough time or
space. .

Hi, there is I beleive only two to chose from early or late the difference being the later gasket is wider to suit the wider cover the early one is
about 1/4" wide the later 1/2" as for the head gasket as long as the fire ring is the correct size then it should be fine

The head set I got for my Pinto had two rocker gaskets as there were different types for early and later engines. The head gasket was same for both.

The later wider type cam cover should have shaped spreader plates under the fixing bolts which tended to help stop oil leaks . If you have no spreader
plates it's likely you have the earlier type DO NOT over tighten the bolts as it will cause the gasket to split around the bolt holes. If you
can find the later cam cover and plates it will fit
