Any one pics of balanced/lightened pinto followers?

As title or link to how to do etc?
Was speaking to old time hydroplane racer that used to use pinto's some time ago and he says this was an easy way to get power from the engine, amoungst many other things. Didnt offer to do it for me though

You will not get any more power just by lightening the rockers , you may?? increase the mechanical efficiency due to less mass to move and possibly increasing the engine speed that valve bounce occurs. I doubt it will help the engine speed to pick up like a lightened flywheel would and if it did it would only give a very slight improvement. Suspect your time and effort could be better spent? IMHO

You need a set of roller followers, the STD pinto ones are very agricultural.

The 1970s Pintos had terrible problems with cam follower and camshaft wear, really it was very rare to find a Pinto with more than 40,000 miles on the clock with out a major camshaft rattle, as a result of valve gear problems Pintos were not used much as the basis for competition engines because they would break followers when subject to high RPM.

Subsequently oils improved and the materials used for the camshaft and followers were upgraded and it became much less of a problem.
