Contacting GTS
Has any one managed to get in touch with GTS yet today?
I've tried both phone lines but no joy.

GTS - Closed until 16th August
Hi all,
Just a quick note to say that i'm off on holiday until the 16th August.
Most outstanding orders (not shocks) will be sent out during the next week direct from suppliers. Shocks will start to go out on the 17th August.
Bodywork queries and desperate bodywork orders can go to admin@tritonsportscars.com.
Kind regards,
Darren
Probaly had such a nice time he forgot to come back. Or worse he s been kidnapped by those mad South African locost builders!

Hope nothing horrible has happened to him out there.
Every South African I've ever spoken to has bars on their windows, keep large dogs, and never goes anywhere unless they are armed to the
teeth!
Just getting a bit worried about my engine mounts. Don't like to say on here but its been a while since he took my money and still no mounts??

a recurring thread title me thinks it seems he is spreading himself very thinly and doesnt have time to communicate to his customers.
Im convinced by what others have said that the quality of his products are second to none and the price is keen, but if its going to take X weeks to
get your goods is it really worth the few quid in price?
One of the first things you buy once you have a chassis and running gear to get you under way and make the chassis look anything remotely like a car
is the wishbone bushes.
Now seeing as this is generally at the begining of the build, he shold know that that customer is still going to be on the look out for bits and bobs
for the next 12 months minimum, so surely you should keep them sweet so to speak as first impressions count. I have asked many times about informaiton
on the bush sets GTS sell but had an answer telling me to mail him off list which i did and got no further with it.
Im not suggesting that builders at the begining of the build get priority or anything only suggesting what i would be keen to do if it were my
business. If i had good service from a company from day one i would be sure to give them a sporting chance during the rest of my build. The key is to
get in there early on in the build.
Maybe if you buy a kit from him you get excellent customer service and communication throughout the rest of the build - who knows.

Hi mangogrooveworkshop
Whats with the avatar at the bottom of your post that tells me I'm being watched??
Scary stuff except it cannot identify my IP address through my firewall. (Thank God!!)
Cheers
Mark
PS. I thought Ned whos building his own chassis has not an unkind word to say about GTS? Also, Darren has eMailed me directly with answers to my
questions very promptly. (escpecially when he's not on holiday)

As said, I've ordered bits from Darren and intend to order again in the future. The price is keen and I'm in no rush with my build.
Delivery has taken a while from placing the order, but I've spoken with Darren and he always lets me know where I am and gives fairly realistic
estimates on lead times, even if they are quite lenghty.
I would guess it's worth giving him a ring tomorrow, he may be back from holiday today, but may have a pile of stuff to deal with!
Ned.

A firewall cannot mask your outgoing IP address. If it did you woudn't be able to connect to any internet services!
The only ways to prevent this are using your ISP's proxy server (if they provide one) or using a third party anonymiser service.

Things aren't at all that bad here in SA, yep there's crime, but isn't that everywhere in the world now, anyhow that's totally
off-topic and I'd hate to start that thread off.
Didn't know Darren was coming out here otherwise we would have made him even more welcome.

Darren has been good for his word in the past. Give him a break - everyone needs a holiday once in a while!
And don't be afraid of an applet that shows your WAN IP address. It doesn't see your LAN IP address if you are not statically routed or
in bridged mode, and NAT will not allow unsolicited incoming traffic through to your machine if you have everything configured correctly.
Besides, what is someone going to find? Pictures of our unfinished cars?

Hi all,
Doing things right takes time. I'm not prepared to make crap just to send it out next day.
GTS is based on the priniciple of providing Locost parts that aren't inherently lo-quality. It started from my experiences buying parts for my
first race car 5 years ago from primarily Stuart Taylor. What i recieved was awful and took ages to come to boot.
Now i make a lot of parts, very diverse, look at the rest of the suppliers and show me one that actually manufactures/provides anything like the range
of products that i do.
Also my lead times are not bad in comparison to other manufacturers. A freind of mine has ordered seats from MK, and 9 weeks later has heard
nothing.
Who else offers you the convinience of buying online? Who else will bend over backwards to make say a special version of the DeDion axle just to fit
some bizarre redesign of the book chassis? Who else actually bothers to log on here and listens to what you Locosters want then goes away and figures
a way to provide it.
I cam back from holiday early on Monday morning, having not slept for 27 hours. I came back to 126 emails and 30 orders, 90% of those emails were
answered in full within 36 hours, and the rest within 3 days as well as all the mails received daily. I've driven 1000 miles chasing/helping
suppliers, collecting orders and delivering orders. All whilst suffering with a food poisoning bug.
I gave up a career in F1 to do this, because i enjoyed it, and most of the people i meet i have become good friends with and i find that very
rewarding.
These forums are very useful for spreading information, but, they spread bad news far more effectively than good. Perhaps the reasons that Mk etc,
don't bother to participate in this forum is perhaps that they find that it spreads far too much negativity.
At the end of the day GTS has a reputation for quality and i wouldn't swap that for anything.
Kind regards,
Darren

Darren,
I appreciate the services you offer and will be placing a £600+ order with you shortly.
You might do well to keep away from the keyboard when someone's ticked you off, though. You don't do yourself any favours when you get
publicly grumpy with people, no matter how justified it is. You have plenty of us fighting your corner without the need to do it yourself.
Hope you take this in the spirit it's intended.

i see what your saying blueshift, but i think a touch of irritaion is allowed in the circumstances!
be honest, who among us likes going back to work after holiday? *(no comments from F1 mechanics/porn stars/MTV presenters/ anyone else with a good
job!)* some time is needed to get back in gear.

Darren - I haven't bought anything off you yet, but do appreciate your honesty and views on here. It will almost certainly result in orders from
me when I need the appropriate bits. Quality product, keen prices and good communication - seems like a good policy to me.

Good to see you back Darren.
Hope you had a good holiday- sorry to hear it sounds like the food hygiene wasn't up to much!
Don't let it all get you down though- it's better to take a couple of days off and come back fighting fit that drudge through stuff I
find.
Keep up the good work. I want GTS to keep doing the stuff it does- if for no other reason than it means I can tell Newbies to buy your De Dion instead
of having to keep answering rear axle questions!
All the best mate,
James

Chin up Darren
I have every intention of using your products for my car as word of mouth (or is that keyboard?) is that your products are excellent quality. I think
your reputation on this forum speaks for itself.
Glad to hear your back.
Cheers
