My Indy for sale :(
Ok folks, much as I don't really want to sell it, circumstances change and I think my lovely MK Indy needs to go.
My camera seems to be a little inept at taking pictures in sunlight, but there are quite a few pictures in my photo archive.
The car is/was reasonably well known on this forum when it was built by "Desyboy", and I think his archive may well still be on the
site.
I bought the car last August and have had no issues other than a snapped front mudguard bracket which I repaired with new material.
The car was a superb build, and the has lots of nice little touches such as having a nicely moulded dash, formed around the instruments rather than
just a flat panel; nicely formed trim on the tunnel top and around the body edges around the rear arches - these cover the join between the body
mouldings really nicely.
The brief spec:
Yamaha R1 5PW motor
Dynojet Power Commander (Dyno'ed at circa 170bhp)
Mechanical paddle shift (really well engineered and built)
Uprated clutch springs
3.62 LSD
7 x 15 Pro-Race 1.2 wheels with 205/50/15 Toyo T1R tyres (plenty of tread on them)
The seats have removable "leather" pads which make quite a difference when you are going more than a few miles, and because I'm a
bit of a short-arse, I fitted runners to the driver's seat, so that is now adjustable.
The condition of the car is superb, but if I was to nit pick, I would point out a couple of marks on the rear arches (although most are in the
protective "film" that is on the front face), the exhaust headers aren't quite as shiny as I'd like them to be, and
there's a very slight leak from the 4-2 part of the collector. The front wishbones aren't quite as shiny as I would like them to be either
- told you I was nit picking.
The car is currently SORN'ed, but that's only due to the fact that the tax ran out at the end of Feb, and I 'll be away from
mid-March to mid-April, so I couldn't see the point in getting the car tested and taxed if I'm not going to use it again until I got back.
I would sort out MOT and tax for a buyer, or we could come to some agreement. The car sailed through the test last Year aparently (before I bought
it), and I can't imagine there being any issues this Year.
There's probably loads more I could tell you about the car, but when I bought it last Year (pretty much without seeing it), I was told I
wouldn't be disappointed - I wasn't - the car really is good. Oh yeah, it goes really bloody well too!!!
I'll be going away next week, so was really thinking I might not get much interest until April, but if you did want to see it before then you
would be most welcome - just give me a shout. I am located in East Yorkshire.
Asking price is always a matter of opinion (and everyone has one of those), but I think £8250 ono is not too unreasonable, and there's always
room for a bit of negotiation. I'm sure that if you do see the car, you will appreciate that it is a very very good example.

Does the car have a reverse system by any chance?

Hi,
No the car has no reverse, but to be honest, when I bought the car I planned to fit one, but in the time I've owned it, I haven't really
missed having reverse gear.
I have been surprised how little I would have actually used it, and with a little bit of observation and planning, it's easy to park, etc.
Yes, reverse would be a "nice to have", but I don't think the expense is justified by the requirement.
The money would be better spent on wheels or something pretty
Bit of an extended answer there, but the short version is "no".

Oh yeah......derrrr, maybe I should have put this information in the original post - sorry.
The car was built in 2007, and the builder sold it in 2008.
The next owner had it for three Years until I bought it last August.
It's done around 12K miles since it was built.
If you do a search for "desyboy" on here, you will find the build pictures in his archive, and a little searching and reading will find
you a few posts complimenting the build quality, etc.

BUMP.
Unexpected events at work have me coming home for about a week, so if anyone was interested to come and see the car, I'll try and get it taxed
and tested on Monday 26th, and I should be home until around April 2nd.
Not sure what the weather is like at home - hopefully it will be nice

Desyboy used to pop along to our meetings, all i can say is this is one of if not the best finished Indy's i have seen, Des was a perfectionist
and everythng had to be spot on. Someone will get a very very nice car.
