12 Volt Feed Until Engine Starts
I want to illuminate the LED in my push button starter on ignition, but for it to then go out once the engine has started.
Can I simply double up on the feed to the oil warning light?
Cheers

That would be a simple solution yes. Added benefit that it would come on with the oil warning light in case of a problem!

Or your battery charge light.

Why do I have to make the tools to finish the job? More time then money.

that would (probably) work, but it's often used as an alternator 'sense' wire.
should be ok if using an led, but if lighting a bulb, it may cause problems.
I would use the oil light circuit
