extra bonnet catch?

fitted my home made bonnet with two locating pins in the scuttle, and two citroen bonnet catches at the front. just wondering if it needs a "safety" catch as well as fitted on standard cars - if it was released now while on the move, it will be off and over the top sraight away (hopefully missing me...)
