I've just bought a single seater

Hi All

After what feels like months of deliberation, I've just bought a single seater for my Blackbird engine and Powertec diff.

The car (which I don't own yet!) is a Formula Ford 2000 rolling chassis with a Hewland gearbox. THe one complication is that the rear suspension hangs off the gearbox, which I won't be using. This will be a relatively simple fabrication job.
Watch this space!

Hi Ned

I think it's the MK9 but I haven't seen the car yet so can't tell for sure!

It will be up for sale once I've got the rear suspension all sorted.

There are some photos at:

Any pointers on which Hewland it is (it's hidden amongst the rear suspension 'cradle' would be much appreciated!

That's certainly a challenge!

What's the chassis?

Do you have all the bits?

What engine / diff?

Regards

There has been a lot of debate about the chassis but no conclusive proof so we just know it is a FF.
I have all the bits but some will be renewed to make sure they are 100%
I will be running a Firestorm 1000 twin engine to a supra LSD chain drive.

I'm planning on continuing in the Welsh Spring & Hillclimb championship - had a good season this year with a few trophies and the class win so I fancied a change for next season!

I'll have to pull my finger out to get ready for the first event in May (Ireland!).

Here's a picture of it a couple of years ago before someone decided it would look better in grey / silver!
