Handbrake and clutch cables
I assume the panther uses the std sierra items?
If not what does it use?
Cheers,
David

The handbrake will be a shorter version of the original.

On Darrens demo car he has a sierra handbrake cable cut in half, wound around the half moon bracket and then clipped together. A few people have done
it this way although I did hear about someone failing an SVA on this. I believe it is safer to thread the 2 ends through a balance bar and terminate
with solderless nipples (Available from CBS)
The clutch cable I am using is from an old Cortina. The sierra one is a little too long :-(

Sierra handbrake is fine but the Sierra clutch is too long. The Cortina clutch is better.
Are you using drums or discs on the back David?

In that case when you mount the back plates on the Dedion end plates you may well have to put them on upside down.
(Cylinders at the top)
The hole spacings are not symetrical.
If you do have to invert them then the handbrake cable will enter from the rear OO er.
If you find that yours fit the right way up then you can change the handbrake entry point by swapping the setting plugs to the handbrake holes and the
handbrake to the plug holes.
Sorry if I'm teaching granny to suck eggs here but this caused me a load of grief when I was building mine.
I think it's because it's one of the early jobs and I wasn't "into" the build so to speak.
