Polybushes
Finally got around to assembling these at the weekend. How tight should the crush tubes be inside the polybush?
I know the bush should be tight in the wishbone (which mine are). But the crush tube is also very tight in the polybush as well.
Is this correct? Just checking before i put them all together!

They are really tight.. You can only assemble them with a vice. I found that a little grease helped them go in a treat. Also, it might be worth just
smoothing / rounding the edge very very slightly on the end you insert, just so it doesn't start ripping into the polybush.

The steel insert should move freely in the polybush this is vital as the wishbones pivot on them.When wishbones are bolted and torqued up to chassis
the wishbones should move up and with little resistance.Also make sure you copper slip them.

Yes they will be tight, once on car and tightened up though you should be able to move the wishbone by hand.
I actually got mine in with a hammer (very carefully!), file off the edges and apply lots of moly grease.

put mine in with a vice, make sure you lube them up plenty.
Once their in i tightend the vice up a little and tried to move them about to free them up.

Tight is good.
I used silicone grease on the tubes and a vice.
Try not to get any grease on the outside of the polly bush or you could end up with the bush turning instead of the tube.
I used water to lubricate the bush when fitting it into the w/bones.
Due to manufacturing tollerances in the brackets and the tubes you may also find that you need to adjust the length of the tubes.
As allready said make sure the ends are nicely de-burred.
Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want!!!
