GTS and good news, well sort of

After reading a few GTS posts resently i thought i'd have a gander at there forum and i found this. and i cant see why Darren dosnt want this on the locostbuilders site as i regard this as good news for the company and maybe a good chance to regain the confidence lost over the last year or so and to new members that have only seen negative GTS posts. although it might of already been on here and i've missed it.

but if Darren dosnt want to have anything to do with locostbuilders anymore why does locost builders have a place for his company ?if it was me and my company i would be on here letting the masses know what i've been up to. like Darren i have been in the same situation where my company became to busy and was a victim of its own sucess.

"I don't expect to see this posting copied onto Locostbuilders. I'm not supporting that site any longer. GTS owners have a great forum here to use. I would prefer to see people being directed to this forum from Locostbuilders for news on the company and for techincal help from me.

Hi all,

We've long been well respected for producing high quality cost effective products, but, always struggled to serve the customer in the way would like. We've tried to develop our systems and strategies as we've gone along to make improvements. We never seem to make big in roads into the problem however, as the business seems to grow in excess of our ability to develop the customer service systems.

I've always felt ina catch 22 situation, in how to overhaul how we do business whilst still doing business. I have long wanted to duplicate the body moulds, to speed up production, and also to move fabrication in house so we can have more control on this. We've recently tried swapping suppliers and in some cases doubling up on suppliers to try and stay on top of demand, and increase control. It just appears that external sub-contractors can't handle the flexibility and short lead times required in our company.

I felt that the del we did in Bahrain, the development of the GTs-40 and the launch of our products in the Rally Design catalogue, should be the defining moment for us to bite the bullet and concentrate on getting all aspects of our act together. So this is where we are at the moment.

I'm taking on staff, duplicating moulds, bringing in new machinary and new systems (new websites coming soon as well). We are also trying to rid ourselves of some SVA projects and full builds, so we have more space for production and R&D. This is hampering our ability to supply for the next couple of weeks, i am trying to clear the backlog where possible and deal with new orders as well, but there is only so much we can do at this time. I'm prepared to take the flack on this for a while because i know its the right thing to do in the long run, and is the only way to really address these issues.

So apologies to anyone affected by this, please hang in there and we will get it sorted and try and build the company in a way that benefits everyone.

Regards,

DG"

I would say "good on him". Darrens customer relations have always left a lot to be desired.

If the bloke is trying then, give him a chance. If he can get his house in order then with the standard of what he produces, he COULD become a top runner in the market.

But until then I 'll hold off buying the bodywork I need.
