Can anyone recommend any sources of information on tuning modern diesel engines ...forums websites etc

Despite the name, I've found useful info on briskoda.net for my SEAT, as well as the rest of the VAG range.
Most modern diesel tuning comprises chips or remaps. If it's a VAG unit that you're looking at, Revo's remap service seemed the
most interesting when I considered it. I'm still sceptical about the power increases that any of them claim, though.
Avoid "over-ride" boxes that interfere with the sensors or fuel pump. You'd be better off with snake oil...

go onto flea bay and type in chip tuning plenty of folk doing it for a coupl of hundres, if you have a laptop you can also buy the tackle to DIY you
need to look for ECU flasher not used these personally

Having said that I did get my Disco tuned to 200BHP! So now my Disco boogies!!!

As a thread divertion, to be more specific on the same lines, any info on tuning a BMW E34 525 TDS??
Its not too bad really, but a bit more booooooooooost might not be a bad thing!!

A little more boost is easy, just shorten the wastegate actuator arm a little
