What fuel filter for '05 R1 engined car?
Gergely - 25/7/08 at 08:34 AM

Hi,
Our car will have an '05 R1 engine and Bosch fuel pump. According to MNR we can use any normal fuel filter before the pump and any high pressure one after the pump. We want one before the pump, so just a plain one.
But all shops that sell these are reluctant to give any advice when I tell them I need a plain filter... They want to know what car, what year, what article number... and they don't want to suggest anything, they can't show anything, everything is in a computer or catalogue...
So is there someone who can tell me a car make, model, year that has a small, simple filter that is fine to be located on the bottom of the chassis at a fairly exposed location with our engine setup, so I can get back to the shop and buy one? Thanks!
Gergely

Any standard FI filter should do - I'm using a Motorcraft one on my R1.

Post pump filter I'm using Renaul Espace IV 3.0 V6 (254 hp) as I may turbo the engine (2003 R1 ) later; pre pump filter any 3 € off the shelf
