O/T Unique Volvo 4x4 ex military
macca1 - 7/12/08 at 11:48 PM

Just thought it may be worth a mention.
There are a few more pics in my album, including one of how it looked when I got it(standard) I fitted the truck cab to make it a little more practical, this is not a factory version but has been done using factory parts. Its proper name is a Volvo TGB1111 and was originally used to carry an anti tank gun for the Swedish army, so hasn't done a great deal. Mileage is around 12k kilometers!!!
Has a 3litre straight six, high/low range, portal axles with about 13" groud clearance and difflock front and rear.
I realise its quite a specialist item but theres nothing lost by asking is there.
Price will be £4.5k
Land rover fans my recognise these as the donnor that supplied many a portal axle conversion as I believe they are almost a bolt on job for any leaf sprung lanny.
Any question please just ask
Thanks

I sold a 710M pinz(4x4) to buy the Volvo as they are cheaper to buy, drive an awful lot nicer both on road and off.
The biggest problem with the Pinz is the rear swing axles, just like a beetle, so with no weight in the back you only had the outside edge of the tyre in contact with the road, very scary in the wet

I ended up carrying 200kg of bagged sand in mine just to even things out.
