just observations....

104,000 miles,

all that work & it hasn't had an engine rebuild or gearbox rebuild?

and the add makes the statement of 'diff not worn', how can you say that if the car has done 104k!

it does look nice though.

i imagine it has had a rebuild, but even when I rebuild my 205s engine itll still show 101000 on the clock.

Nope, it hasn't had a rebuild, because it doesn't need one!

Nothing whatsoever wrong with the engine or the gearbox. The engines particularly take 200,000 miles in their stride ( I have owned an awful lot of them! ) and the cost of rebuilding would simply make the car too expensive to then sell!

Also what would you do to the engine......you can't regrind the crank on the 2.8 and you can't get undersize bearings for them, there is nothing wrong with the bores, difficult to know what a rebuild would do other than cost money to acheive no improvement!

Only a Tickford or Brooklands capri will ever sell for over £8000 and that's the sort of cost your looking at with engine and gearbox done.

Bear in mind that the car has had approximately 300 hours of work as it is.

Oh yes, the diff, well the backlash is within ford spec because I have checked it, the wear pattern on the crownwheel is perfect, there is no pitting on either the wheel or pinion, and no play in the pinion or carrier bearings, or the halfshaft bearings for that matter. The plate pack is perfect with the correct stack height, and it has had a brand new cover and gasket following checking and been refilled with genuine ford lsd oil with the correct ford additive.........anything wrong with that or have I missed something?
