FS OT: My BSA lightning XL air rifle .22
tomgregory2000 - 25/9/09 at 10:22 AM

I have for sale my BSA lightning XL .22 air rifle.

I love this rifle but i just dont use it enough i must have put less than 1000 pellets through it and i have not used it this year at all.

It is in as near mint as you could get, it comes with an AGS scope, i think the range is 3-9 x 40 mil dot and comes with a couple tins of pellets, a genuine bsa gun slip, lens cleaning cloth, handbook and correct size allen keys for adjusting the scope and the two stage trigger, it is the beech stock version.

Here is a link to bsa website Lightning XL

This gun would cost you new £299.99 puls scope (£54.95), scope mounts for a springer which are 4 bolts per mount (£19.99) and gun slip (£29.95 but a small bit of damage) and pellets but i am willing to sell for £200 plus £10 delivery, collection welcome.

Are you aware that air weapons can no longer be bought via mail order?
All transactions have to be face-to-face.
Although it is possible to get weapons sent via registered firearms dealers.

Are there rules about ownership of these now?

I used to have a few pistols and a rifle as a kid, used to keep them in my bedroom cupboard.

I was thinking of getting another rifle as I have quite a large garden now but have heard rumours of licences and gun cabinets ala proper guns, shot guns etc????

Ok collection only.

No, no gun cabnets or licence needed as long as the rifle is below 12 ft. lbs

I understand that as a private individual not a shop or mail order business, you can still send air rifles by mail as long as you are happy that the recipient is over 18.

Nice gun BTW!

No, no no.

As a private individual you can send air weapons through the mail. It is buying new they have to be bought from a registered firearms dealer, face to face and the sale is registered.

No FAC required as long as the power is under 12lbft. And no specific storage requirements.

Those which were restricted were the brockock type with the self contained TAC carts (which look like a real bullet). Those are now banned from sale new although it was possible to keep them if you had them as long as you got a FAC. CO2 pistols are still legal and come under the same rules as spring pistols.

I bought this rifle from Tommy and I am just posting on here to say that it is exactly as described (as new) and was delivered very efficiently.

Top rifle, smooth transaction and an easy guy to communicate with!

A public thanks from me!
